"I love Bharatanatyam among other form of dances. As Sri used to watch Indian movies and concerts, she developed interest in Bharatanatyam. As she showed interest in Indian classical music and dance at a young age of two years, her parents sent her for Bharatanatyam training under the tutelage of Akila Iyer and later with Smitha Paily in the US. Her parents, Srinivasa and Mayura, IT professionals, are from Bangalore. Sri was born in Louisville, and resides there.

It is not possible to learn Bharatanatyam from the basics through Internet, she added. Lauding Sri's accomplishment, Naveen said using the technology to propagate Bharatanatyam is a very good move. Not everyone can do this," says Vidushi Mithra Naveen of Nada Vidyalaya Academy of Music and Dance. Learning Bharatanatyam online is not simple. In just a year after she started her online training, Sri has performed Bharatanatyam in Belur, Bangalore and Mysore in the last three weeks. Anoosha Sri recently came to India for Ranga Pravesha (debut on stage - a ritual).

But a complex dance form such as Bharatanatyam? That's exactly what a 12-year-old girl has achieved - sitting in the US, she learnt the traditional dance through Skype from a tutor in Mysore. MYSORE: Technology can even make you sway, or even dance a little bit.
